I think the person this guy is mean to is the one who is living at his old address when one of the psychos gets paroled or a weird furlough like Hinckley.

An epic meditation on intangibility

To be fair, Sister Y, you don't get to the flared bases chapter until Sex Ed II.

I know I shouldn't expect this to be death metal or gangsta rap, but singing about how dependable something is just isn't very rock and roll.

Call me crazy, but I always liked Trent's instrumental stuff best. His music and production has always been top-notch but, at least lately, his lyrics have veered towards the "my heart is black/trapped in a sack" sort of nonsense. So I'm pumped for this. $1.75/album I can live with.

Incidentally, is it me or is BoingBoing the only site where you can respond to a post about a new album and worry about being off-topic by talking about the music?

5 is, coincidently, the number of times I have been in a car with manual transmission (I'm 26, FWIW).

It always gets my goat when people say, "In Africa, people do X." Africa is a continent, not a country, not to mention a very large place. At least throw in some weasel words like, "In most African countries." Maybe he's right, but I just have a hard time believing that is the way it is done across all those African nations and cultures.

Semantics aside, very interesting. The Turkmenistan/Pakistan/Parts of Turkey method cracked me up - very, uh, deliberate.

A thermos is the key to the drip coffee maker warming-plate problem. Also, keeps your coffee warm all day with no add'l energy use.

Personally, I prefer espresso from a pump machine in the winter and cold brew coffee in the summer.
