Just because someone has the right to do something, doesn't mean it's the right thing to do.
Just because someone was within their rights to do something, doesn't mean that nothing can be done retroactively to help correct the mistake.
To quietly unpublish the articles was a mistake that BB had every right to commit. They can never uncommit the mistake, but they can take steps to salvage their somewhat unclean reputation, if they should so choose. I hope that when their feelings become unhurt they will be able to unentangle this mess somehow, and maybe things will become a bit more unobscure.

Actually, no... they'll just argue that the employees responsible are the ones that died in the crash. All neatly tied up.
Hollywood wants to infect all next-gen video with DRM

This doesn't worry me. Seriously.
If people find that their cable provider isn't giving them what they want, if the system becomes so 'secure' that it's unusable, they will move to other sources.
Eventually, any artist who agrees to allow his work to be locked down by DRM will fade into obscurity.

I listened to BMR on Podiobooks and I love it. The characters are well developed, the story has a satisfying beginning-middle-end without throwing out the possibility of sequels, and the pacing keeps you coming back.
I'm not anyone whose opinions matter any more than anyone else's but if you ask me this is one of the best.

Let's say it works. Let's say that a quarter... A QUARTER... of the planet's trees are replaced with carbon-stripping variants, and the CO2 in the atmosphere is drastically reduced...
How does this affect the carbon cycle? What happens when CO2 is abnormally LOW?
And how about all the OTHER greenhouse gases, like nitrous oxide, ozone, CFC's, and water vapor?
Replacing one out-of-control climate hammer with another one that bangs in the opposite direction is not an answer.

Consider public broadcasting (that is, American style).
Yes, noone gets rich in PBS, but people ARE rewarded adequately to create some marvelous content.
Shareware works much the same way, though perhaps it needs to be a little more sophisticated with marketing techniques. "Nag screens" are pretty primitive.
Go to http://www.podiobooks.com to see a place where audiobooks are distributed in the same fashion; download for free, donate if you think it's worthwhile to you.
