Charlie Stross's Halting State: Heist novel about an MMORPG

I just finished the book and it has some very good theories. My wife and I both play MMOs and I was wondering how he would explain the whole bank robbery thing but I was very happy with the technical explanation.
Some of the biggest problems that I have with books about the near future(even though I love reading them) is that some of the changes just don't seem to be possible in the short amount of time or even long term. This book is a lot better in that respected compared to some of the other singularity-themed books.
Great book!!!!
Video of Wal-Mart's spreading across USA like germ culture

I look at Walmart as a necessary evil of its time. Being in college in the late 90' I enjoyed to freedom to buy a gallon of Milk, quart of Oil and a T-shirt at the same time. Now my wife refuses to step foot in one because of the lack of quality goods and the chaos that ensues when trying to check out.
I think Wal-mart still has it place but it will have to adapt to the new desires of their customers. I like the fact that the market is forcing them to change as opposed to government-lead change.
Another great competitor to Walmart is Wegman's. It combines the quality of Whole Foods and the size and variability(organic and non-organic products) of Walmart. I hope they continue to expand, it is truly amazing visiting one of their stores for the first time.

I am all in favor of Changing Congress. But if he is just another person on the Obama gravy train no thanks. Why doesn't the Change Congress site have any information of what they stand for, policy ideas and the things that are going to change.
I think we need new tech related candidates(outside of the politico field) stepping forward but if he is being tied to Obama there is nothing new here. Same old hat.
