"I think we were disqualified from the first 24-Hour Comics Day anthology because our work is collaborative"
As the editor of that anthology, I can say that no, you were not. One of the advantages of naming the books 24 Hour Comics Day Highlights is that it can be highlights of the day... whether they were technically 24 hour comics or not. And as a matter of fact, that book does include a collaborative comic, by Amanda Levinson and Adam Rosenblatt.
