UK govt's "What to do about fraud" page "withheld because of exemptions in the Freedom of Information Act"
June 9, 2008 5:56am
I'm actually quite happy about this because it means that their system tags blocks of text with security attributes and delivers them to only authorised people, suggesting that there is somewhere a proper system of security in place.
This is better than, oh I don't know, saving it as an office document with password protect and burning it to a CD, and throwing it in the post hoping it will get to the intended recipient. Not that anyone would be so stupid as to ... oh ... right ...
UK teen faces prosecution for sign calling Scientology a "dangerous cult"

regarding section 5 of the public order act, subsection 3 says "It is a defence for the accused to prove ... that his conduct was reasonable" http://snipurl.com/PublicOrderS5 . So there seems to be a valid defence. But it seems wrong to me that the burden of proof is on the accused, surely it should be up to the CPS to prove that is was unreasonable.
Journo's last wish is for more marrow donors

I would do, but the bone marrow registry is run by the national blood service, so I expect that they use the same criteria as for blood donation which are prejudiced against homosexuals.
Fluxx -- Nomic card game
January 29, 2008 8:25am
OOhhh I love fluxx, a great game, everyone I have played it with loves them (and then goes out and tries to buy a deck).
Just a pedantic little correction though, the sentence "Naturally, only one Goal is in effect at any time, but a player can change the game's Goal by playing a new Goal card" is wrong. Sure that is the initial rule, but all rules can be changed and so there is a rule card that alters the number of goals in play at any one time.

so if I shop a "violator" they can end up with a bill of up to $300,000, and I get $1,000,000 as a reward.
Hmmm, I sense a loophole to earn me and a buddy $350,000 each ;)
