Actually, Cantonese is spoken in a HUGE province in southern China named Guangzhou, or the artist formerly known as Canton*. Hong Kong is just a tiny city in the province. It's unfortunate China's made its way back into the limelight; it feels like we're definitely getting a resurgence of the "ching chong" jokes and Charlie Chan/Fu Manchu sentiments. Maybe BoingBoing oughtta post an entry explaining to its readers why China's suffering from corner-cutting businesspeople and an economy throbbing with knock-offs and piracy instead of giving us pictures and punchlines.

* Canton, incidentally, sounds closer to the Cantonese version (go figure), and Guangzhou is the uniform Pinyin version that's recognised throughout China.

How could you guys have a regular post about "The IT Crowd" and just a passing mention of "The Mighty Boosh"?!?! The more you watch these shows, the more you realize a lot of the actors are in each other's projects. Boosh are amazing. Their third series is coming soon; it'll be set in a shop this time, I think.

I don't understand why a standard British season (er, series) is so short. What do they do air during the rest of the year?
