Woman goes on YouTube to air divorce grievances

April 16, 2008 3:32pm

Whatever else, this video is going to make it harder for her to snag a new sugar daddy, I would think.

Wal-Mart loses trademark on smiley face

I think Walmart should build dormitories for workers. They can charge, say, a dollar an hour for bunk space and 50 cents for a shower. They can lobby for a bill to make this a legal pretax employee pay deduction. This way everybody wins! Employees save money on expenses, and Walmart gets to recoup some of the money it loses paying workers.

If they don't like the dorms the employees should just remember how lucky they are and that some people don't have homes at all, and that they are free to go at any time.

HOWTO Earn an artist's living in the 21st century: 1000 True Fans

March 4, 2008 10:35pm

I can't think of an instance when I've spent $100 on one individual artist's work in one year, so I'm not sure I can relate to a "true fan." Then there is the need for the artist to gear her work toward enough products each year to keep the truefan interested. I guess these would be t-shirts for musicians and visual artists, signed special editions and chapbooks for writers, in addition to primary works like actual music and literary works.

5000 good fans at $15 - $20 (net) a year for $75-$100K a year sounds good.

Eyeball stickers to place over eyelids

February 15, 2008 10:29pm

Don't bother with stickers; they start to curl up and could come off at an inopportune moment.

Get tattooed.

Unknowing twins married

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof. I politician relating an anecdote to perfectly illustrate the need for some legislation he wants doesn't qualify. At this point, I'm not buying it.

Mike Huckabee congratulates Canada on its "national igloo"

If Jesus didn't want Canadians living in igloos then why did He invent ice six thousand years ago? Huh?

Once you fortify your local mall against zombies, you can go ahead and take all the photos inside the mall you like, with impunity. At least until you run out of batteries.

Scottish govt buys anti-drunk-driving "roadside ads" on Xbox Live

Speaking of ads I can't wait for the ads for that Hollywood snuff film / Blair Witch rip-off "The Poughkeepsie Tapes" to go away.

How bloggers blog in Cuba

October 15, 2007 2:02pm

@Micah

Because she is using a computer provided by a hotel, probably in a "business center" off the lobby. She's charged for each minute she uses the hotel's computer -- not just for the minutes she is online on that computer. I wouldn't assume that all Cuban bloggers have the means to afford their own computers on which they can write posts to upload using a hotel computer later, either.
