Teen pranksters switch off San Francisco's electric buses
March 11, 2008 1:41pm
"A plan has been mapped out by city officials to increase police patrols aboard the buses. In addition, patrol cars, when available, will escort the buses through the most troubled parts of the runs."
They don't sound like pranksters to me.
Creationist dioramas at kids' science fair
February 26, 2008 3:19pm
So, the Twin Cities Creation Science Association has a "science fair" and it's full of projects related to creationism? Who'd a thunk it?
Yeah, they are nuts. But it's the creationism stuff that is the problem not homeschooling.
Here's a great related post:

Warner to sell no-DRM MP3s on Amazon
December 28, 2007 7:28am
The labels will get their variable pricing if/when they bring Apple's market share down to 40-50%.
It will be interesting to see how much marketshare Amazon gets with their 1 billion song giveaway.
No matter how awful the license terms are for Amazon's MP3s, they are still better than FairPlay DRM'd AAC files.
Netgear's tiny Network Attached Storage RAID -- just right for a home entertainment/data server?
December 27, 2007 7:21am
My company has two of them. We are using them as our main file servers for 10-15 person work groups. They are great when they are working. One of them showed up with a bad disk and the other one had the SO-DIMM memory go bad after a month of use. In either case, we didn't lose any data, but it was annoying.
The Infrant forums are amazingly good and seem to be monitored by "level 3" tech support people. They solved the bad memory problem in 15 minutes.

This is election year grandstanding. It won't pass the senate without the immunity provisions, just like last time.
What they will eventually pass will look much like the last bill Pelosi refused to bring up for a vote, including the telcom immunity.
Telcoms vs. EFF & Co. - Telcoms are going to win nine times out of ten. No, that's not a good thing, but that's how things seem to work out in DC.
Until there are 40-50 new senators (both D & R) things aren't going to change.
