Blackberry's Kickstart clamshell is coming later this year

May 1, 2008 8:19am

As @ALAN said, this is an easy one: "Is that a flip phone in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?"

Neocube needs no mechanisms

Is it just me or is the web page down?

This post fills me with ennui.

Bell Canada: We have to screw up other ISPs' connections or our retail customers will suffer by comparison

April 18, 2008 4:45am

Of course they don't want to provide better service for someone else's customer, why is this odd? They been hamstringing US Bells since the breakup of AT&T, why doesn't COMCAST have to provide the same sort of access to their competitors? Regulation...deregulation...neither seems to work...

Tear-free onion engineered

February 6, 2008 1:21pm

Actually all you have to do to make tearless onions is grow them in sulfur free soil--aka Vidalia onions. Although they haven't done a great job mapping sulfur content of soil in Vidalia and, consequently, you can get some with plenty of tears, when they don't have tears, it is pretty neat.

Painter's Pyramids Let You Paint Both Sides at Once

You gotta love the "make it work" engineering going on here. It's got everything from tape to flip-flops to door-stops. If I were stuck in a real-life Poseiden Adventure, I'd want these guys with me. Not to mention that they know how to relax.

Credit card fraudsters use custom domain

December 18, 2007 4:58pm

Come on, have you looked at the site? They can keep you from "loosing" your money! I, for one, know that my money is already too loose, I need to tighten it up. It's Interpol and FBI approved, what could go wrong? I'll be back in three minutes...

First/Worst: Online Nickname?

December 9, 2007 3:50pm

Oh yeah, it was "The Dungeon" on my Atari 1200XL in the early 80's. I was, of course, "Dungeon Lord." I guess there was too much D&D in there somewhere. I have such fond memories of x-modem uploads to my BBS...

Hmmm, I thought squatting was all the rage back then.

Coal/Tuberculosis link explored

I thought same as Keneke, brief scan of paper restored confidence in peer-review process. Paper goes beyond just proposing correlation...

Stiletto TiBone Solid Titanium Hammer

October 9, 2007 2:18pm

I used to have this great ad for a titanium hammer that claimed, because it was half the weight of a steel hammer, you could drive nails twice as fast! Really, how is titanium better than steel for a hammer? Maybe it's good for explosive environments because it's non-sparking?

Matchbox car catalog from 1969

October 4, 2007 4:27pm

I hope this setup isn't in Boston, that looks like an improvised hoax device there with that button and wire and whatnot...and there clearly appears to be an explosion occurring in the background...
