Looks like something you'd see on a Hot Toppic t-shirt. Its depressing how much of modern art is more to do with fashion than anything else.
Kids' game adds 500-1000 words to its forbidden list every day

Many times, this sort of stuff is done more for the parents than the kids.

Gun owners are the happiest people in the US
April 21, 2008 3:05pm
I love my Beretta .40 S&W as well as my Chinese SKS ($150 for a capable target rifle isn't bad!). I see gun ownership as a civil right, something to be respected as much as the first amendment. I don't have any illusions of using them for self defense, I just love target shooting.
Naomi Klein on social change
April 21, 2008 1:50pm
Her attacks of Milton Friedman in Shock Doctrine were downright childish and convinced me that she either doesn't understand economics or is just a deluded idealist who cares little for facts. She is famous for using a lot of specious rhetorical techniques in her writing too - which leads me to believe that she is more guided by her emotions or political bias rather that reality. Yes, she is a dear to the fringe left - but to most people she is just dumb.
Naomi Klein on social change

As far as anti-globalists go, Naomi Klein is probably the dumbest. And ya, that makes her really dumb.
If ABC ran the Lincoln-Douglas Debates
April 19, 2008 10:33am
ABC actually did a fine job with the debate. Obama needs to answer these questions completely (Wright, Ayers) if he wants to connect with middle America at all. Yes, the wacky left just wish everyone would forget about these ties to ugly people - but that isn't going to happen.

Sierra Club on Hummers vs. hybrids
December 14, 2007 12:18am
The FJ actually easily does 20 mpg if you know how to drive it. Plus, if I drive my two co-workers to work (which I already do now) thats 3x20 (= 60 pmpg "people miles to the gallon). Yup, that means that my FJ is actually more "green" than a prius. Plus, it isn't full of batteries that may not be so great for landfills AND I can drive it to Big Bear and Mammoth in the winter and not worry about spinning off the road. Pure mpg is really a short sighted (and emotional) way to view these issues.
My other auto is a diesel and that a WHOLE other story.
Sierra Club on Hummers vs. hybrids
December 13, 2007 12:29pm
I'm going out to buy an SUV today just to piss off all of you smug greenies. My new Toyota FJ will cancel out at least one prius (maybe more?).
BTW, Rush was right about overpopulation, there is no such thing.
Walt Disney's grave
December 12, 2007 11:38am
@15 Rudolph Valentino is actually buried at Hollywood Forever cemetery in Hollywood. This was the place to get planted for Hollywood's elite in the 20s to 40s. The cemetery you speak of in Westwood contains much more contemporary remains. Both are really interesting places to explore if you know here to look.

It's going to be fun watching Ron Paul go down in flames. I haven't seen a more inept campaign style in a long time. Why won't he close his ties to neo-nazi fund raisers?
CIA coverup, take action
December 10, 2007 12:24pm
I wouldn't call it torture, and we do need to protect those CIA agents. You guys need to remember that we are in a time of war and also consider the two people who were being questioned.
Furthermore, it's not obstruction of justice. Key members of Congress were notified before those tapes were destroyed. The record of the interrogation was not destroyed and there is NO legal basis for requiring video to be part of that record.
The Democrats are going to do their best to make the most of this politically - they are going to talk tough and make demands. But in the end you will see how they truly feel about this issue based on their inaction. Whats more, with the presidential election nearing, it hill hurt Democrats if they appear to be more concerned the feeling of two Al Qaeda leaders than protecting the Nation. I can't wait until this issue comes up in a debate.

It's important to note that this kind of treatment has only ever been used on a handful of very high value terrorists.
This video is much more about smearing America then it is about ending this type of treatment.

Daily Show writer explains writers' strike -- if digital content isn't worth anything, how come Viacom is suing YouTube for $1 billion?
November 15, 2007 11:28am
To be fair, nobody is saying digital content isn't worth anything. The industry claims that the writers are already properly compensated. I'm not saying the industry is right - just knocking down a straw man.

Lights Out: "turn your electricity off" event photos
October 21, 2007 3:45pm
The point about vegetarianism and global energy use (as well as global warming) is a valid one. Farming is by far both the largest man made source of CO2 (of course, no where near on par with the ocean) as well as a massive energy hog. That said, there is no way in HELL I'm giving up meat.
Lights Out: "turn your electricity off" event photos
October 21, 2007 10:48am
I turned all of my lights ON last night, and kept them on an extra hour. The problem isn't power consumption, but rather municipalities that don't know how to run a city, build infrastructure, and stand up to environmental hysteria. California should have been 100% nuclear by the year 2007. I'm not going to enable our politicians to continue to ignore the issue.

Ronald Jenkees; Hello YouTubes, have you heard my SICK beats?
September 4, 2007 11:17pm
I've been checking out this dudes licks for a while now - he's definetly a natural musician who's got more that just technical (musically) prowess. It's one thing to play Pachelbel's Canon on an electric guitar - it's quite another to lay down some nice original riffs (with soul) like Ronald does...

DMZ Public Works: New collection of moving, thrilling graphic novel

Really tired of the moonbat cliche of Halliburton as a, "a profiteering, ruthless government contractor". It's clear Cory doesn't have a clue what Halliburton does (it's history dates back the early 1900s - long before the Bush admin). Is it possible to write a review without being so blindly partisan and conspiratorial?
