Videos of the worst pop songs ever

May 2, 2008 8:45am

I contest the inclusion of Seasons in the Sun and decree that any bad song list is incomplete without We Built This City.

This whole exercise reminds me of the SNL sketch "Songs That Ruined Everything": http://snltranscripts.jt.org/97/97hsongs.phtml

(Unfortunately, I couldn't find a video.)

Blogging sweatshop exposed on video

April 19, 2008 9:13am

I WISH I still had my nose!

I've had to use nothing but my schlong and force of will! During 30-second breaks they fed us powdered elephant dung (if we met quota, we didn't get seconds). And we STILL managed 200-words-per-minute! On XANGA!!!!

Did anyone else have the video cut off a few seconds after the commercial?

I'm disabled (muscular dystrophy) and I honestly think our community can get too focused on the language issue. I feel like "people with disabilities" is absolutely identical to "disabled people" (the latter is a hell of a lot easier to type) and I think "putting people first" is much more important in practice than on paper.

"Cripple" sounds like the N-word to me and "handicapable" is nauseatingly patronizing, but the rest is ok.

The worst result of the constant name-changes is that some ABs are so scared of saying "the wrong thing" that they avoid talking to us altogether.

Regardless, I'm a happy mutant. :-)

Muppet Danny Boy performed by Beaker, Swedish Chef and Animal

March 17, 2008 10:07am

In the criminally under-appreciated PC game ''The Muppet CD-ROM: Muppets Inside'', the mini-game Scope That Song ends each level with the final song sung by The Leprechaun Brothers. I DARE anyone to listen to their rendition of ''Hava Nagilah'' without shooting liquid out at least one orifice.

Sicily's Mafia-free department store

March 12, 2008 4:58pm

Anyone who's played Sam & Max Season 1 Episode 3 (The Mole, The Mob and the Meatball) knows that calling something "Mafia-Free" is just overcompensating.

Boom! comics' new series available as downloads on the same day as in stores

Cory sez, "But those cheapskates are likely either retired people, students, or other people of limited means...."

Or they're the totally neglected market of disabled comic fans like me who get infinitely more from digital than paper comics. I can't hold the comics up to my face to see the fine details, so zoom capabilities are a godsend. I'm sure the same goes for people with vision problems.

There's also plenty of extras they could add to digital comics that just aren't possible on paper. Give us creator commentaries, pop-up footnotes, character dossiers ("Gee, I've never seen THAT Long-john Vigilante before." *click* "Oh, so THAT's what's-his-name."), and turn the "Letters" page into a "Videos" page!

I wonder if they're related to moonpies - a sort of mutant-hybrid of a smore and a Peppermint Patty that not many people actually like, but they're still highly sought after as Mardi Gras throws.
