Jana Sterbak, a Montreal artist, did something not dissimilar in 1991 with "Vanitas: Flesh Dress for an Albino Anorectic", essentially a couture dress made of flank steak. It was shown at the National Gallery in Ottawa, there is a "performance video", and there was even a juicy scandal.
