Blistered and peeling Superman Museum sign

Superman is everywhere in and near Metropolis. I saw one driving a rusty pickup truck at a rest stop near Metropolis last summer:

I didn't get the camera out soon enough to catch him and his posse but, for some reason, that one lycra-clad arm was enough.
Is driving better than cycling?
May 14, 2008 11:16am
@t3knomanser, according the the Sloan Automotive Lab at MIT, today's cars one use 1% of the energy contained in a tank of gas to propel driver forward. 90% is lost between tank and wheels and the other 9% is used to propel the mass of the vehicle.
The human body and the modern bicycle are far more efficient than that. Plus, I don't idle as high as a car when I'm at a stoplight.
Bicycles, all you need to know

@fatcat1111 Thank you for doing that.
As a lycra clad speed junkie who rides an expensive bike, I'd like to say that when someone asks me about bikes the first question I ask them is, "How are you going to use it?" That is the most important question. When you know what kind of riding this person is going to do, then you can find the right kind of bike.
And there are options to go in between road and hybrid. Get a cross bike and you can go bombing down hills, clear mud, ride wider tires and have good climbing abilities.
There are so many different types of bikes that can be matched for need and comfort that a bulleted list is useless.
'Cycle' bag concept by Iohanna Pani doubles as bicycle seat

Wow. That's a bike seat for one large ass. Interesting idea, horrible execution. Can you imagine trying to ride a bike with what amounts to a pizza box under you?
Though it does look like a fantastic conveyance for a very large hunk of cheddar.

Which seat were you thinking would be fun on the trainer, Joel? Front or back. Just curious. I think it says a lot about your work ethic. Or your height.

XREY, those cyclists are just selfish dicks.
Even though I'm addicted to speed as I fly through the streets and my groovy carbon steed, I obey traffic laws. As we all should.
I tend to enjoy having my brain inside my skull and not splattered on the street.
