Cult of Mac: the iPod Touch is not a serious gaming platform
September 12, 2008 2:05pm
Lack of any real buttons does seem to kill it for a large chunk of game types. Even the wii in most instances relies not only on motion input but button presses as well to play a game. I cant imagine playing games that require quick multiple input sources on a touch screen.
Not to say that there aren't things that the touch cant do well; I could easily see it running something like puzzlequest, which is a killer game.
Basically I wouldn't really buy a game system that is pretty much locked out of certain genres of games entirely. I'd buy it as a media player that can do some games, but gamers aren't really going to be flocking to it unless they are the most casual of gamers.

Perhaps you put a candle on the spike and use the arm to position it?
Portal Weighted Companion Cube Papercraft
October 15, 2007 7:59am
My guess is that the wii lacks the power to functionally render what is needed for portal. If you listen to the commentary in the game you find out that they did a huge amount of programming to get the portal system to work well ontop of the already complex source engine.
The Back-Up Bed-Mounted Gun Rack
October 12, 2007 11:58pm
I had a criminal justice professor at my college tell me that the single best gun for home defense is a sawed off shotgun. He then explained that, while it is illegal, you cant miss, its easy to use, and small enough to fit in a good hiding spot.

Zwigoff and Clowes will build "$40,000 Man" movie
September 17, 2007 8:09am
Hell, Wong Jing did a version of this in 1995 starring Stephen Chau called 60 Million dollar man, though I think in the movie it was really more like 6000 dollars. Lot of slap stick humour and somewhat childish jokes, but thats pretty much what you'd expect from that duo.
Woman jailed for serving salty burger to police officer
September 10, 2007 6:52pm
Looking at the smoking gun police report it says that the cop only took three bites, and then inspected the burger noticed that it was covered in salt, the lettuce and tomato included and appeared to be done purposefully. Not to say that the cop can't be a lying dick head, but if true it doesn't exactly jive with the idea that the salt got mixed in with the meat accidentally.

Actually, I couldn't resist making a quick mock up of that Boo concept!

Reminds me of those ghost bars from Super Mario 3, the straight white platforms that would have Boos rise/sink out of and then dissapear
