Have to say....looking at that website gives absolutely no indication as to how good a writer he is, and might even put people off even trying to find out.....

It's criminally hard to get a hold of his stuff. After his story "Shed His Grace" appeared in the SF edition of Semiotexte (pushing the definition of SF quite far and making lots of people feel slightly naseous) I searched around and managed to get his odd novel about obesity on other planets Movement Of Mountains and a proof copy of his short story collection Brains Of Rats. He's a very interesting writer, having been a surgeon I think. Just noticed he had a book out called Healer, which I've never seen anywhere, Amazon here i come....
Telescope tunnel between London and NYC opens today

This was done about a year ago between Guernsey (where I am currently) and Australia. It was an art project, and used round portholes in the floor with screens in them so that people at both ends could wave to each other. Basically a fancy webcam.
Torture playlist

In the Channel4 recreation of torture methods at Guantanamo that they broadcast here in the UK about 2 years ago, they had a naked man standing in the middle of a room , blindfolded ,and with Subhuman by Throbbing Gristle blasting out of a set of headphones.
I have to say, that since I've been listening to TG for over 20 years, that the crap listed in that playlist really would be torture to me.
Jonestown death tape: audio from the last hours of a mass suicide
February 19, 2008 12:06pm
@ Firepile. Yes Topy did put out this recording on LP, I think it was even longer ago than 15 years. It is also on a CD put out more recently by Grey Matter, which includes the whole of the Gospel LP recorded by the Jonestown Choir, the name of which I can't exactly recall right now.
A final bit of oddness - half the gospel songs were re-recorded with titles and lyrics warped by Death In June , on the album "But What Ends When The Symbols Shatter". They were uncredited. I was very surprised when I recognised them...
