@1 "Now if one could automate a handwritten letter."
I'm sure if you really tried you could find a way, it'd most likely involve creating a bank of fonts made of people's handwritten alphabet with a special character symbolizing signatures and addresses, and some sort of programming, (all the respect in the world for you people who know how to program, I have zero of that knowledge and stare blankly at my husband and others when they talk of it), to automate a copy/paste with the font switch and send it to print. Package all the print outs and mail them together or individually and voila, handwritten letters.
Super Blockquote: Hewlett-Packard, Workstations Division

Ditto on #6's getting stuck in a horizontal back and forth :( Mine did the same with only the word "driving" left with the ball a scant 3/16ths of an inch above taunting me.
Grilled Cheese Invitational (to do in L.A., April 19)
April 17, 2008 5:23am
Awww if only it weren't on the other coast I'd be all over this :(
As far as the honeypot version it doesn't have to be super complicated, one of the best restaraunt "french toast" I've had was a light bread that had the egg/milk/vanilla mixture on the outside and edges, with a thin sweet cheese melted in the center (it had the consistency of melted swiss, but I'm not sure what type it was), that came with a spiced syrup.
And I've found the George Forman Grill to be one of the best grilled cheese makers as you get the grilled goodness all over, but with a nice, easy to section apart, texture.
TSA steals food from doctors' infant children
February 21, 2008 5:33am
Well at least there's a recent post on this sort of topic (Theft, not just being jerks and stealing baby food) in the TSA blog, http://www.tsa.gov/blog/2008/02/tsa-our-officers-public-and-theft.html#links titled "The TSA, Our Officers, The Public and Theft." At the end-ish of their post they do say:
"So what can you do if you feel you have been ripped off?
First and foremost, file a police report. Most airports have law enforcement in the terminals, many airports could have a police officers respond in minutes.
Second, file a claim with both TSA and the airline. We analyze this data and if we see a trend at a particular airport, we are in a better position to investigate further."
3-5 are just regular common sense in the make sure you have it with you to begin with line of thought.
But at least the guy responded to some of the comments "Couldn't agree more with anonymous at 12:31, "the screeners violated the public trust. That is completely unacceptable for a government employee at any level." That's what the post is all about. One case of officer theft is one too many and we're doing our level best to find, fire and aid in the prosectution of any officer that is stealing. Beyond the obvious lack of honesty and abuse of the public trust that has been mentioned, officers stealing sully the reputation of the great majority of the workforce and make their jobs much more difficult."
Unicorn eats bowl of glitter

Maybe the glitter is simply those nice little round metallic dragée. http://www.thebakerskitchen.com/CAKE_SHOPPE/Sugars/Dragees/dragees.htm for those who never had them. Sure they could be "bad" for you but you're eating little silver sprinkles, how do you loose? ;)
Liveblogging Amazon Kindle eBook Launch
November 19, 2007 9:25am
I dislike the per month cost for the blogs, especially areas like Apartment therapy which has various sections/pages (NY, Chicago, Kitchen, Green, etc) which are $2/mo each. I see boingboing on there for $2 as well, does that include bb gadgets and tv or just the main page, it doesn't clarify and going off of AT I'd assume not.
I understand that it's only $1-2 for most blogs but really, when they say no monthly fees and advertize blog viewing anywhere as a feature, I'd expect at least some freebies beyond wiki. Just as the "email content to your kindle for 10cents each" seems like a downer. It leads me to wonder if the kindle account is billed per email, what happens when they get on a spam list.
Neat idea, but to me not worth it.
Pregnancy products with funny names

Not pregnancy related but young child related is a no rinse cleanser called "Mom Spit," I saw info about it a couple months ago on a different blog.
How it feels to die
October 11, 2007 12:08pm
I heard forever ago that people in the Navy Seals had to "drown" in a controlled situation during training so that they wouldn't panic/be afraid in the real situation but be able to better handle themselves and hopefully prevent it from really happening again. If I'm wrong I'm wrong but it's one of those odd facts that stuck in my head.

Finally something interesting to do with those junk AOL trial cd's that somehow hid themselves in my things while moving beyond just art projects!
