I find it a neat little synchronicity that this popped up now. I just read a nifty little story in Ray Gun Revival issue 31 called "The Mouse That Ate Civilization" by Steve Polling. It involves a certain piece of very familiar data that destroys the world as we know it.

I wrote a story today, inspired by this whole thing. It is sprinkled judiciously with "Asimovs" and "Silverbergs", and even some "Saberhagens" for good measure. But I like to think it stands alone, without the issue underneath it.
