  And couldn't that same amount of money be spent on catching actual criminals? I don't think it's possible to figure out how much is NOT being done because cops are wasting their time on people smoking/buying/growing weed. If you look at our society, I think we can see that there is a lot of legitimate work cops can stay busy doing....

  re: the broke the law, they deserve to be in jail argument, I believe that it should be against the law to be a callous, unempathetic sshl. The prisons would be full!...

  Sorry to disagree with many of you, but growing your own is really not that hard. The price and taxes collected would have to be pretty low to make it affordable to your average college student, pizza delivery person, or high school teacher willing to go the much safer DIY route....
