Commented on Anti-Olympic mural censored in Vancouver
The Vancouver bylaw that is worded to allow city inspectors to enter homes and businesses to remove offensive signage (the mayor and RCMP claim they won't go after protest signs but the wording still stands) also says signs using the...

Commented on Woman gives birth in pool with dolphin, internet gives birth to meme.
I'd be more concerned about bacteria in the water getting into the newborn's system. There have been cases of home water births resulting in severe infections, imagine the crap floating around in a dolphin tank. Ick....

Commented on est reincarnated
I attended an orientation back in '96 so a couple of my roommates could get a free 'intimacy seminar' for their big Forum weekend. The Forum's techniques were disturbing, four hours of non-stop bafflegab and in the last hour the...

Commented on God Hates the World, by Westboro Baptist Church
It's sad seeing so much effort wasted on hatred. All their resources and energy and what do they offer? Nothing. Some legacy....

Commented on Typographic conventions in comic-book lettering
Chezzo, the bolding is just another way of expressing how a character speaks. Showing the stresses helps you 'hear' the cadences as you read them. Taking the Watchmen page as an example (that's Doctor Manhattan talking right?), the stresses add...

Commented on Palin hears rally attendee call Obama "n-word" during speech, keeps on truckin'.
It's interesting that no one reacts to the woman's comment but the second Palin brings up the idea of the government 'taking care of us', the barest hint of leftyism and Oh noes! the crowd is all over that. What...

Commented on Adam Savage inhales sulphur hexafluoride
Tobor, be sure not to inhale directly from the tank. The force from the nozzle is strong enough to overwhelm your lungs and kill you. Several deaths have been attributed to this stunt already....

Commented on 6th severed foot found in B.C.?
Pugwash, I saw that about the plane crash theory and it's a pretty rational explanation but there were only four people in that plane. The discover of this foot puts it at five at least....

Commented on 6th severed foot found in B.C.?
Just saw the report on the news. A Witness says it was a right foot in a man's running shoe and unlike the previous finds, this foot was cut clean across. The others apparently dettached due to decay in water....
