Commented on Navigation system uses crowdsourcing for route guidance
@13, that would make sense if there was anyone else on the road at the time I am. I have a reverse commute, so that shortcut would add about 10 minutes over about 2 miles. It does get snarled up...

Commented on Navigation system uses crowdsourcing for route guidance
Tried this on my G1. It seems pretty good so far, though the route it chose for me is clearly wrong (driving past on-ramps to drive the frontage road for 2 exits before getting on) but my main problem is...

Commented on What's the best multiple-button mouse for Macs?
I've always been a fan of Microsoft's mice and trackballs. (mouse at work, trackball at home) though lately I've been wishing that the concept that came out a while back (with the laser approximately where a pencil tip would be)...

Commented on Microsoft bilking customers on hard drives
MS is so fun to pick on, right? As alluded to above, Apple's been doing this for decades now. Go spec out a mac pro and add some RAM or a HD. I guess everyone expects that from them though....

Commented on Reptilian Alien Tearing Through Fake Human Face Thermos
Oh man. The part that I remember was when the half-alien, half-human baby was born, and it looked human and everyone was all "phew it's a human after all..." and then it's tongue came out and it was all alien-snake...

Commented on Android app uses G1 compass as a metal-detector
It actually works really well as long as you move slowly. And what's up with the level apps on the iPhone? Why do they all need to be calibrated? The ones on the Gphone doesn't - "it just works" hah!...

Commented on Joe Hutsko, Energy Detective
We have one of those fancy thermostats (that everyone probably has) that lets you specify waking temp, day temp, evening temp. We lowered the high temp from 68/69 to 67. We knocked 1/4 off our bill compared to last year....

Commented on Don't say "Reboot": Android OS executes every word you type
It only worked with [return]reboot[return] No other commands worked. I don't think it really had root, so the rm -rf /* wouldn't have worked. (not that I had the guts to try) It was fixed before it was discovered though....
