  • Commented on Distance to celestial objects chart
I find it amusing that the concern with airplane travel in space is that "not in airplanes which would fall to pieces with age" rather than the lack of air for the propeller to push. Also cute is the space...
  • Commented on Video: Tuning a pipe organ
correction: it's been offline for three months, not three years (according to the linked article)....
  • Commented on World's most flushingest toilet
Must have. I was relieved to see the plastic letters go down, because that's the exact shape and texture of my BM's. With the occasional rook or knight mixed in....
  • Commented on Suburban Japan:3
#12 & #17 -- thanks for mentioning Hungry Planet; I hope it inspires charles to seek it out. A great and enlightening photo book documenting the weekly food intake of families around the world. Highly recommended for some perspective....
  • Commented on Spark plug bug
Just to clarify, since over at BB, this is being advertised as made from a spark plug, at Make (where you linked above) it says, "Fashioned from - pneumatic spark plug cleaner, Illinois license plate, shoe trees, lawn sprinkler, bicycle...

  • Commented on Disney's 1946 menstruation film

  • Commented on Pig-shaped earbuds making me want bacon for breakfast
Where did you see them for $12? At that price, I'd buy, but I only saw them at http://www.geekstuff4u.com/product_info.php?manufacturers_id=&products_id=873 for $45.15 (shipped). That's a bit too rich for a novelty, IMO. But $12? Sure! Would love to know......
  • Commented on Plate offers millimeter-precise cake division
I believe the markings are degrees. Hard to make out, but it looks like both sides are approaching 90 in the middle....
  • Commented on Codex of Liliputian subnotebooks
whoa -- are you sure my comments qualify as a "bladder-evacuating temper tantrum" and "raging?" Point is, if you want to write a colorful backstory, stick to what you know. I'm confident there are many things you know a lot...
  • Commented on Codex of Liliputian subnotebooks
Clearly. And yet, you did choose to write it....
  • Commented on Codex of Liliputian subnotebooks
Dude- I know that creating an interesting narrative is fun and profitable, but let's get some of the basic facts straight. Meconium would *not* come out of an umbilical cord, nor would it "spurt."...
