Commented on The Lung Flute: A Sort of Gross (But Important) Medical Innovation
This seems like something that would be pretty easy to build if one had the right measurements. Any non-chemical tool in the asthma arsenal is great in my book! In any case, if they sell it, I'll buy it....

Commented on Man in breathalyzer costume charged with drunken driving
As a side note, he wasn't the only guy arrested for DWI while wearing a breathalyzer costume that night. http://www.timesunion.com/AspStories/story.asp?storyID=860690 Sadly, I haven't found a picture of him in costume....

Commented on Six-year-old sent to reform school for bringing a "weapon" (Cub Scout camping cutlery) to school
Argh!! This kind of thing drives me nuts. I agree that keeping weapons out of school is a good idea, but 45 days in reform school??? If you're going to do mandatory punishments start small and make it progressive based...

Commented on Taste Test: red kuri squash
I will say, that you probably want to make sure no pets or damageable walls are in it's path. I suppose a pillowcase and a sledgehammer would accomplish the same....

Commented on Taste Test: red kuri squash
Looks delicious. My personal favorite squash is Blue Hubbard. Cutting those is also a challenge. My mother-in-law had a friend that would place their hubbard in a clean pillowcase, tie it, and then throw it down the stairs to break...

Commented on Years-old fast-food cutlery chunk removed from man's lung
This bugs me. Even if you were taking big gulps of a drink, shouldn't it end up in your digestive system and not your lungs? Methinks this guy needs to slow down on the intake....

Commented on DIY Low-NRG Fridge: Coolest Ice Box Ever?
A farmer from the Hudson Valley in NY does something similar using a stock AC unit and a well insulated room. I have a friend who built a cooler this way and it works very efficiently. If you go to...

Commented on Tweet (#2318862647)
That's a shame because my Panasonic point and shoot is the best point and shoot I've ever owned. I'm assuming this will be built in on all future models. They just lost my future business....

Commented on iTunes Store failure temporarily bricking iPhones during 3.0 upgrade
I must have gotten lucky...first try...Maybe they had a segregated server for us paying iPod customers. I suspect there'd be less traffic at $9.99 a pop....

Commented on Funny tattoo for syndactyly
Wow...I decided long ago, that I wouldn't get a tattoo because I never found anything to which I could commit. I'd be wholly unoriginal, but damn, this is great. My webbing stops about halfway, but it's there....

Commented on Sony X reviewed. Verdict: "Thrashes" the iPod
It's probably a little late to just do the audio/video thing well. It's the apps on my iPod that make it so valuable to me. Music players are a dime a dozen and given the places I primarily use my...

Commented on Tennis-ball chair
#1 That's exactly what I was thinking...Looks awful clean for used tennis balls. Can one wash a tennis ball? That sounds like a good musique concrete idea....

Commented on ColorQube: is wax the future of color printing?
We have a solid ink Xerox printer here at work and the thing is great. Everything sheet does get a waxy sheen of sorts. Plus when you clean out the excess wax from the catch tray, you get these cool...

Commented on Man replaces lost finger with USB drive
I hate to say it, but I can't really think of a reason for a prosthetic finger other than USB drive. I guess some Inspector Gadget like multi tool would be useful. My father lost the tops of a number...

Commented on Searching for an Honest Bank
Ditto on the credit union. Also I may just be lucky, but there are several very small community based banks where I live that have full online services. Not only do I keep my money in them, one of them...

Commented on Naked Baby Plays a Synthesizer (video)
#15 - I think it's a Korg MS2000. As for all this fear of naked. Sheesh. On the topic of synth and babies, I think my 4 monther will be meeting my MicroKorg very soon, though less buttons = less...
