Here's what I can say absolutely reliably [date stamp 12:15 pm 12/25/08] 1. "Disemvowelling" will be discredited and ignored in five years as the obvious Orwellian concept that it is -- it is merely shredding commentary you don't like, and most intelligent people understand that and don't support it. 2. If I'm wrong, and the totalitarians *do* take over, then in fact Clay Shirky and Teresa Nielsen Hayden will be among those swept up in the first round of purges, as Old Bolsheviks inventing the original Party line often are during such frenzies....

these phones have been around for the past two years, they are made in china, my friend bought one of these they work with blue tooth, txt messaging and as a pim, i recomend if anyone wants to buy one just google the the term watch phone and see what happens in the results....

I got myself an CECT W600 Wristwatch Phone from ebay last month and it looks even a bit smaller than this LG brick - works like a charm, too. It does everything yesteryears cellphones did and the battery life is amazing for such a small package. Only the microphone could be better, but there are Bluetooth headsets. The future is already there. At least the part that contains wristwatch cellphones. Greetings, LX...

I guess Mr. Aubrey de Grey is unaware of the laws of highschool physics, that make the existence of any kind of perpetuum mobile IMPOSSIBLE. Maybe people will live for a few millennia instead of a few decades, but nobody will ever become IMMORTAL, because an immortal biological organism would literally be a PERPETUUM MOBILE, and that is completely ruled out by the laws of physics. The laws of physics are clear : The human quest for immortality WILL FAIL ! Anyway, there is now a black humour joke on Aubrey de Grey : "Hello, Mr. Carlos the Jackal ?"...
