Commented on HOWTO remember to retrieve food after a playdate
When I was a kid, I'd always walk or bike to my friend's houses myself. It was never more than 15 minutes away, anyway. So any forgotten item I'd have to go fetch myself the next day......

Commented on Chip Rowe's essays
@16 Frankly, those parents should be sued for having lead paint in reach of their children. That's just wrong. Tin can makers should be sued for allowing their products to be filled with both yummy and poisonous contents. Their school...

Commented on Chip Rowe's essays
@MXJOHNSON Please, coffee we make here is served freshly made and boiling hot. I have a hard time believing you would not notice how hot the coffee is when you're holding the cup. If you take that cup along in...

Commented on How free ebooks are good for well-known and obscure writers
I've never emailed anyone I've read a book by, either. It just strikes me as an odd thing to do. I like your books -- not you....

Commented on Judge sentences man to 6 months for yawning in court
No wonder us Europeans think it's no wonder American jails are so full, and that we wonder why no one in America is wondering about that. P.S. I wonder if reading wonder so often makes you wonder about how odd...

Commented on Jamba Juice accused of stealing "Get Your War On" artist's work - Update: Jamba responds, GYWO calls for boycott
I can see that Jamba (or well, their advertising agency at least) clearly ripped off his work, but halfway through his over the top rant I just stopped caring....

Commented on Video: ten more minutes of Joe Larson's <em>ASCII pOrtal</em>
Aww, his site has been crushed. Is there any other way to have a look at the game?...
-
Commented on Video: Jason Rohrer, Chris Crawford go Into the Night
"Durch die Nacht mit" actually means "Through the Night with". It could either mean "spending the duration of the night with" or "going (walking, moving, ...) through (the darkness of) the night with"....

Commented on TweetCraft: <em>World of Warcraft</em>'s own in-game Twitter client
I wonder if TweetCraft has Blizzard's blessing. It reads and modifies the saved variables file of the addon while WoW is running and I remember that when I was writing addons (over a year ago now) Blizzard very much frowned...

Commented on PETA pushes to halt Seattle fish mongers from tossing fish
@11 What about the plants? They obviously don't feel as we do, but does that mean they don't feel? Do not some plants react to touch? Do not some plants seek the warmth and the light of the sun? Do...

Commented on Listen: Mister Beep's 1-Bit Bleeps
The last song, Cosmic Escape, strongly reminds me of the music of Munchies (parts of it do, at least). Munchies is an old Mac game I played when I was a kid. Ahh, the memories. If you want to hear...

Commented on Keeping a bald eagle feather could result in a $100,000 fine and a year in prison
Am I the only one who finds the $100,000 fine a little excessive? Maybe I simply don't understand, being European and all, but I'd think $100,000 for one feather is frankly insane....

Commented on Practical joke cocktails: freeze Mentos into the ice-cubes, add to Diet Coke drink
If you want to see a spectacular fizz, just tap a open beer bottle with a glass or other bottle. Disclaimer: I'm from Belgium and this works great on beer bottles here. They've always been chilled when I've seen this...

Commented on TED launches open translation subtitles to its TED Talks

Commented on Science and carbs - A big fat lie revisited
What if it just differs from person to person? I'm 1.82m (5.97 feet says Google) and I weigh 59 kg (130 pounds). This makes my BMI 17.8, which is supposedly underweight. A couple of years ago I started to eat...
