Commented on Graph compares rock music quality with US oil production 1949-2007
Yeah, because any list by Rolling Stone is TOTALLY worth its salt. Like their best albums of 08 list, for example: http://www.rollingstone.com/news/story/24958695/albums_of_the_year/31 Here's an excerpt from it, for those who don't want to bother clicking. 2. Bob Dylan - Tell...

Commented on The Linder Gallery Interior painting: science, art, and mystery
David, Unfortunately no. Although in a similar vein as that guy, it was more handmade painting stuff than graphic design stuff. His stuff was also a bit more complex/detailed, with lots of text and diagrams and whatnot explaining these theories....

Commented on The Linder Gallery Interior painting: science, art, and mystery
Hey Boingboing readers/writers/admins, What was that artist that you guys posted a while back who did paintings that were basically very complex cosmic diagrams? I recall them all having to do with various scientific theories, and being highly symmetrical and...

Commented on Urban archeology: Lost Underworld of Los Angeles
Huell Howser did not one but two fantastic episodes on the LA Subway Terminal building. It's now a residential building. The tunnel is still intact though most of it is filled in with dirt and concrete....

Commented on Xeni on Rachel Maddow Show: John McCain vs. the Internet
I'm sorry, but Xeni, you really didn't answer one of those questions at all. As Maddow asked, could the telecoms potentially ignore an FCC protection of the internet and go ahead with their throttling/blocking of sites? Or is that paranoia?...

Commented on Thoughts for Polanski apologists, by another woman raped at 13.
Seriously. I was saddened to see that so many filmmakers I look up - Woody Allen, Aronofsky, Lynch, Wong Kar-Wai, Scorsese - to are siding with Polanski on this one....

Commented on Recently on Offworld: Beatles go 8-bit, Dreamcast gets a new game, let concept artists rule
Would 8-bit fans just rather listen to everything redone as a chiptune? Seriously, some things don't need to be covered as if it were an NES soundtrack....

Commented on Daredevil LA tagger "Buket" of YouTube fame gets nearly 4 years in jail.
Yeah, $60k in damage? I saw a worker painting over graffiti in the LA River the other day. He basically took a roller with some gray paint to the cement wall and covered up a 10 foot long tag in...

Commented on Review: Two Weeks W/Spotify [Verdict: It Just Works]
I personally love Lala. As someone who has his entire music collection digitized and on an external hard drive, Lala is great because it lets me sync my library with the site and stream most of my music for free...

Commented on (BB Video) Send Me a Link: The Art of Cassandra C. Jones
Great stuff. Probably one of the more effective commentaries on the internet/digital culture that I've seen recently in art. She has an awkward habit of looking at the camera though....

Commented on Double Nickels on the Dime by the Minutemen turns 25.
"One of the greatest American punk records of all time (if not the greatest)..." Serious contender for one of the greatest records, period, of all time, in my opinion. Read the 33 1/3 on Double Nickels and try to not...

Neil Young recently put out a box set of old archival recordings. Apparently on the DVD and Blu-Ray versions of the set, the visual is simply a reel to reel player playing the song....

Commented on Mathematically modelling phantom traffic jams
@26: It's preferable for both lanes to be used as long as possible. I believe this is the case for two reasons: 1) it's a more efficient allocation of cars...if you have road, it should be used. Second, it causes...
